Privacy Policy

This site collects very little. This page explains what is collected, by whom, why, and the choices you have.

Who we are

This policy covers the website at drywallscalculator.com (“the site”, “we”, “us”), an independent publication. For any privacy question or request, write to contact@drywallscalculator.com.

The short version

  • You do not need an account to use the site, and we do not ask for your name.
  • The calculators run in your browser. The figures you enter are not sent to us and are not stored.
  • If you contact us, we receive your name, email address and message, and use them only to reply.
  • The site shows, or will show, advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve and measure ads. You can turn off personalized advertising.
  • We do not sell personal information, and we do not run email lists.

Information you give us

Contact messages. When you use the contact form or email us, we receive the name and email address you provide and whatever you write. The form delivers your message to our inbox by email. We use this information only to answer you and, if you report an error, to investigate it. We keep correspondence for as long as it is needed for that purpose, normally no more than two years, and then delete it.

Calculator inputs. Nothing you type into a calculator leaves your device. The arithmetic is done by code running in your browser. If you use “Copy link to this result”, your inputs are placed in a web address that you can save or share. If you open such a link, the inputs in it are sent to our server as part of the page address, like any other web address, and may appear in standard server logs.

Information collected automatically

Server logs. Like every website, ours is delivered by servers that process the technical details of each request: your IP address, the page requested, the date and time, and your browser type. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes this information on our behalf to deliver pages, keep the site secure and block abuse. We see only aggregate figures, such as the number of visits to a page. We do not use these logs to identify individual visitors. Cloudflare’s own privacy policy is at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Advertising. We use Google AdSense to show advertisements. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, to limit how often you see an ad, and to measure whether ads are effective. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet. The information Google collects may include your IP address, identifiers stored in cookies, and the pages you view. How Google uses data when you use our site is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices and, in the European Union, at youronlinechoices.eu.

Consent in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will see a consent message before any advertising cookies are set. You can decline, accept, or choose which purposes you consent to, and you can change your choice at any time through the “Privacy and cookie settings” link in the footer. We use Google’s certified consent management platform for this message.

Analytics. We do not run a separate analytics service. Aggregate traffic figures come from our hosting provider and from Google AdSense reporting.

Cookies

The site itself sets no cookies. Cookies set by Google for advertising are described in the cookie policy, along with how to control them.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict its processing, and to receive a copy of it. In practice the only personal information we hold is correspondence you sent us, and you can ask for it to be deleted at any time by writing to contact@drywallscalculator.com. We will answer within 30 days. If you are in the EEA or the UK and are not satisfied with our answer, you have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

For visitors from California: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page. Material changes, such as a new category of data collection, will be noted here for at least 30 days.
